Baseball
Baseball is my 2nd favorite sport. My favorite thing in baseball is running the bases. I love the feel of stealing a base. The good thing is I get to steal a lot because I'm fast. This summer my baseball team went to Cooperstown for a baseball tournament. This year was the best year. I had a bad hitting year but, I had a amazing fielding year. I love watching the world series every year. This year I wanted the Rangers to win but, the Giants ended up winning the world series.

Sliding
Sliding is fun, every year we go to my Grandma's house when it is cold and go off jumps. Also we go to my best friends house and make jumps out of snow. One year we made a jump and one of my friends did a flip off the jump but, the jump ended up breaking. After sliding we always go inside and make hot chocolate. After we make hot chocolate we go in my friends basement. In the basement we always play mini basketball. I love to go sliding. The only times we go sliding though is on snow day's that makes them even better. On the snow day's we spend the whole day at my friends house. I would hate snow day's without sliding.

“Mary Poppins” Response

It was a dark boring day in the Bank’s house. There was constant yelling. Mrs. Banks was trying to convince the last nanny to stay but, she wouldn’t budge. Like always the Bank’s are constantly losing nannies. In the movie Mary Poppins, written by P.L. Travers, clearly states that the plotline, symbolism, and characteristics follows Romantic mode of literature.
A plotline of a Romantic literature has a minor conflict and ends with life symbolism. The minor conflict in the movie is that their father Mr. Banks is very mean to his children. That’s why they have a nanny. When Mary Poppins shows up the kids love her but, there father doesn’t. During the movie Mary Poppins is taking the kids to all kinds of places but, is also trying to make the dad be nice. In the end the life symbolism is that the dad does become nice.
As well as the plotline fits as well as the characteristics. The characteristics of Romance are everything seems better than it really is, unrealistic, fantasy vision, main character is in control, main character can’t do wrong, good is powerful, and evil is weak. One unrealistic thing is in the beginning is when Mary Poppins is floating on a cloud. She also can’t do wrong when she measuring everyone and the measuring tape described the person when she was measured it said she was perfect in every way. Another characteristic is that Mary Poppins is good and the Bankers are evil.
Finally the purpose and life symbolism follows Romance. In Mary Poppins the purpose is when they escaped to the countryside in the painting. A purpose in a Romantic story is when you escape to a world of innocence. The life symbolism is the dad turns into a better dad.
After stating this, the plotline, characteristics, purpose, and life symbolism follows a Romantic mode of literature. Mary Poppins is a Romantic mode of literature.

Snow Day
Snow Day
On snow days I usually go to my friends house. We go sliding in his backyard. My friend has a ramp we always go off. Then we would try to make a ramp. One year my friend went off a snow ramp and did a backflip. The ramp ended up breaking so it stunk. Then we would go inside and have hot chocolate. Then we would go in his basement.In his basement we play knee basketball. Usually there is a lot of fouls but, none of us call it so it is a brawl to the basketball. When we get bored of that we go back outside. Snow days are so fun.

Christmas
Christmas
For Christmas my family always goes to chruch the day before christmas. On christmas day we go down stairs by our tree and open presents. We would always go in order from oldest to youngest. Everyone thinks I get the most presents because I have more when they don't but, the truth is they skip me every 3 presents. Then after that we would all help make breakfast. When were done with that we setup some of are gifts until 1:00. After that we would have are family over to my house or my cougsin's house. When were at my house or my cougsin's house we would have dinner then we would play a board game. The next thing we do is open more presents. Usually we stay until 11:00 and party. Then we would go home and go to bed and wait for next year.

Superhero
Superhero

It was a windy day when the man crossed the road and went into the bus station. The man looked suspicious, so I followed him on to the bus. They drop him at his house it appeared to be nothing but, all of the sudden the man turned around and transformed into a hero. He jetted out from the sop where he was standing. I quickly told the driver to follow the flying man. Then the man drove the bus down town when we arrived a car came flying out of nowhere but, luckily the superhero destroyed it. That is when someone on the bus said “what is that thing in the air”. It appeared to be another superhero but, he was attacking the other one, so it must be a super villain. So I thought it would be smarter to just go home and be safe so I got off the bus and ran home.
Later that night I was sitting in bed watching T.V and it said that the super villain stole a valuable item from the Richerton’s. The Richerton’s are a very rich family. No one knows what the super villain will do with it. Uranium is what he stole and it is used in a bomb. I wonder what the man would use the bomb for. Well, obviously he won’t use it for good.
The next day when I went to school it was nothing out of the ordinary but, when I went home it started getting unusually. BOOM! The noise echoed through out the town. The explosion happened at the city bank. I quickly ran towards the city bank. SZINK! A stoplight just flew by, so I figured that the Superhero and villain were fighting again. This time the super villain was holding a bag of money and a bomb. The Superhero let him go because the super villain was going to drop the bomb if he attacked. That day I followed the super villain home. At the time it seemed to be t greatest idea but, it turns out it wasn’t. His hideout was the old library.
I sneaked into the library and followed the super villain in. He threw the bomb on the floor I quickly ducked for cover but, it didn’t blow up. So the bomb must be a fake, right then I super villain caught me. I made a break for it to the door but, he beat me to it. I dived through his legs and escaped. I ran back home and hide in my house. Then I thought I should go and tell the superhero. I went to his house and told him the whole story.
The next day the villain stole some more money from the bank but, the superhero didn’t fall for it this time. They fought for several hours but, in the end the superhero won the battle. The only reason he won is when the super villain told his plot while doing that he choked on a fly. Everyone celebrated that day and everything was back to normal.

Birthday
One of my favorite times of the year is my birthday. On my birthday I usually have school on my birthday but, this year I probably won't because I have spring break this year when it is my birthday. If I have school on my birthday I usually do my homework go to some sport practice come home and choose where I want to go for dinner. Then we come home and open presents and have cake. Another thing that happens is that I have a birthday party with my friends. When I was a little kid my parents never let me have a birthday party. The last few years though they have been letting me have them. I remeber one year three friends of mine and I went bowling. We stayed there for about three hours bowling and they ended up sleeping over and we stayed up to three in the morning. Playing viedo games and watching movies. In the morning we had french toast for breakfast and then we played viedo games till noon but, then they had to go home. That is one of my most fun birthday parties I ever had. This year I'm planing to go paint balling with my friends and then having them sleepover afterwards.

Christmas
Chirstmas is my favorite holiday. Every christmas my family goes to my house or my aunts house. There is one game my family plays a game called imagine if every year the reason is it can be really funny. Another tradition is my mom always makes party poatoes and they are so good. Those are the only traditions we have for christmas.

Candy
Candy is my favorite thing to eat. My favorite type of candy is Snicker's. Candy is so sweet and delicious. Halloween is my second favorite holiday after Christmas. I like Halloween so much is it is all about candy. Every year we spend have of the Halloween at each others house and play outside and then at night we go out trick or treating. Last year Shaun and I ended up with 7 pounds of candy each. Some how my brother Eric he comes with us and he got 10 pounds. Last year we only went half the time and we went to the Football game that night. The year before that I had a Soccer game in Milwaukee. That was the day when it was 42 degrees outside and I hurt my hand because a kid on the other team shoe went flying in the air and it hit my hand on a fly. It hurt a lot because it was only 42 degrees outside. Even though having trouble on Halloween it is still my second favorite holiday.
Writing
Sports is one of my favorite things to do. I play soccer, baseball, basketball, and Cross Country. My favorite sport is soccer. I play soccer for 3 seasons, Fall, Winter, and Spring. My second favorite sport is baseball. Part of the reason is my dad. It is his favorite sport of all time. In the summer that is all we do together. My third favorite sport is basketball. This sport is my third favorite because no one my family likes the sport. This is my brothers favorite sport because he is really tall and his team is really good. My least favorite sport is Cross Country. I would like it more if I didn't get so nervous. Two of my like 8 meets I felt like I was going to barf.

It was a dull day and all I could hear was the marching of soldiers passing by. There was constant rumbling from explosions and gunfire. The U.S was getting attacked. Another country is trying to take over. Where is the army we don’t have one. I would have been terrified if that was really happening but, it's not because we still have patriotism. Patriotism still matters, if it didn’t then we probably wouldn’t have an army.
If patriotism didn’t matter there would be no love for are country. No one likes are country no one would fight for it because that is one reason people join the army because they have pride for their country and they are willing to fight for it. So if there is no army it wouldn’t be too safe. There is other countries that don’t have an army. It would be easy to take over the country but, somehow they don’t get taken over. It isn’t smart not to have an army. That’s why patriotism is still important. Also if there is no army they might have a draft. If we didn’t have patriotism the people that came over from England wouldn’t have came over and they wouldn’t have fight the English. To save our country from being ruled by a King.
Since we do have patriotism we have an army and currently they are fighting in Iraq. Also it would be safer because it would harder to take over. There is also benefits in having pride in your country. There is more reasons to celebrate holidays. One holiday is 4th of July. That is when are country became independent. Patriotism is not all about the army but that is probably the most important. It can help the economy by celebrating more holidays and helps create more jobs. Like when people shoot off fireworks someone has to make them.
